- Make a beveled button with gold color. Making an elaborate gold color background is the key point of success.
- Make a new layer.
- Type the text you want.
- Cut and Paste the text to put in the middle of the beveled button.
- Make 2 copies of this layer and rename as follows from top to botton:
"Fill"
"Shadow"
"Highlight"
- Go to "Fill Layer"
- With "Preserve Transparency" is checked, fill it with gold color which is your background.
- Go to "Shadow Layer"
- With "Preserve Transparency" is checked, fill it with "black" to mark shadow area.
- With "Preserve Transparency" is UNchecked, move the layer a little bit to the upper left. I assume the light source is from the upper left. You need to adjust the angle according to your light source.
- Go to "Highlight Layer"
- With "Preserve Transparency" is checked, fill it with "white" to mark the highlighted area.
- With "Preserve Transparency" is UNchecked, move the layer a little bit to the lower right.
- Now, you got the effects you are pretty much desired.
- Try Filter> Render > Lighting Effects.
- With Lighting Effects, you can make it either better or worse :-) Keep experiment with it.
