| E131. Flash Animation on Webpage |
Compared to what I'm capable of making webpages fancy with up to the date web technologies, my homepage is simple and there's one reason for that which I'm about to give up.
I still have a dozen or so friends and ex-colleagues, who don't do Windows. They haven't used Windows over a decade or more, and don't plan on doing Windows.
Although many MS Internet Explorer's plugins are running on Linux, FreeBSD or Solaris based web browsers, the functions of those are still limited. As I wanted to respect "no windows" friends, who motivated me to work on internet technology when it was burgeoning in early 1990's, I tried to keep my webpages text-only for a while, which was difficult to keep; and even with pictures and some plugins, I tried to keep my webpages accessible as I intended for most web browsers on most operating systems.
But by not deploying flash based content on my homepage, I'm losing the opportunity to present my contents in more favorable way and I'm looked lagging behind with the current web technology which I'm not. So I finally decided to maximize the capability of MS Internet Explorer for viewing; thus causing some problems to a dozen or so friends who use UNIX desktops exclusively.
